When it comes to lipstick formulas, there are so many forms out there, Liquid lipstick to matte formula, Velour liquid lipstick, lip-glosses, and just a regular lipstick in a tube. But lip stains… that is one formula I am not all too familiar with. I don’t have any comparison since I do not gravitate towards that kind of style of lip formula. I do love trying new lipsticks from different brands and see how their formulas work. Avon sent me three of the 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo Line & Fill Duos to try out and to be honest, I had no idea this little tube of a pen style application would apply to the lips really really good.
I love how smoothly it glided on and that it genuinely stayed on my lips but I did find that the lighter shade did fade away on my lips compared to the darker shades. So I received the shades Rebel Raspberry, Renegade Ruby, and Gnarly Nude. I found that Gnarly Nude the one I was talking about didn't give me the nude vibe I thought looking at it would give me. It became very orange/peachy colour on me. Compared to Rebel Raspberry and Renegade Ruby, these colours are very pigmented and I could not believe the staying power of it after wiping it off. It legit stained my lips! I could not believe that it stayed on.
So essentially the point of this lip stain duo is for when it comes to applying the lip colour to your lips, you will have one end that is used to line the lips, which is the finer tip side and then the other is used to fill them in, the chubbier side. I found that the application felt like putting on Crayola markers to your lips and was really different almost like putting a liquid eyeliner pen on your lips. But this lip stain is no joke and it packs a punch of some serious staying power because the colour is semi-permanent. That’s why I could not get it off my lips. It legit made my lips feel really light and not heavy like a lipgloss would. It was not sticky and did not budge at all. I really would have loved for it to be a thicker pen like feel with no double end. But that’s just my opinion.
These lippie pens retail for $15.00 (CAD), but are on sale for $11.99! I am slowly warming up to them, I think they definitely are something that I need to keep trying and get used to. It’s my first time trying out lip stains and I feel that it would be a great fit for adding any sort of pigment to the lips. Its perfect if you need to go to the pool or the beach. It would be the perfect way to add color and know that it will not budge especially with water. I would stick to the darker shades from the three they sent me as they provided way more pigment and more staying power on the lips.
